What a SaaS affiliate programme is
A SaaS affiliate programme pays you for sending customers to subscription software. Because the customer pays every month or every year, the commission can repeat too. That is the main difference from recommending a one-off product, where you are paid once and that is the end of it.
Programmes vary a lot. Some pay a single fee per sign up, some pay a small percentage for as long as the customer stays, and some pay a larger share for a fixed period. Before you join any of them, check four things: the share, how long it lasts, when you are paid, and what happens when a customer asks for a refund.

A worked example with real prices
UtilitySEO has two plans. Entrepreneur is £48 a month or £400 a year. Enterprise is £149 a month or £1,490 a year.
If someone you refer takes Entrepreneur monthly, they pay £48 and you get £24. If they stay for a year, that is 12 payments and £288 to you in total. If they take Enterprise monthly, you get £74.50 a month, or £894 over a full year. If they leave after three months, you keep what those three months earned and nothing more.
