Cheaper than what I was using and far easier to get around. I had never seen keyword data laid out so visually before, the topic clusters especially, which made the whole thing easy to understand.

What a real audit covers, and why issue counts mislead

Most audit reports open with a number: 247 issues found. It is the least useful sentence in the document. Issue counts are dominated by whatever the crawler found most of, which is usually a trivial problem repeated across every page, and they make a site with one catastrophic problem look healthier than a site with two hundred cosmetic ones.

A useful audit separates four layers, because each fails differently and each is fixed by different people.

Crawlability and indexation. Can search engines reach the page, and are you permitting them to keep it? This layer is binary and it outranks everything below it. A page that cannot be crawled does not benefit from any amount of content work, so a single misplaced noindex on a template is worth more attention than every missing alt attribute on the site combined.

Technical health. Status codes, redirect behaviour, canonical consistency, structured data validity, sitemap and robots agreement. These are the problems that quietly cap what the rest of your work can achieve.

On-page. Titles, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, internal linking, content depth against what the query actually wants. This is where most of the addressable upside sits for most sites.

Experience. Performance, mobile rendering, accessibility, layout stability. Weaker ranking signals than the layers above, but they affect whether the traffic you earn does anything useful once it arrives.

Severity is a judgement, not a measurement

No two tools agree on severity, because severity is contextual. A missing meta description is trivial on a page nobody lands on and material on a page earning thousands of impressions. Duplicate title tags matter enormously across a product catalogue and not at all across three legal pages. Treat any severity label as a starting suggestion to be checked against your own traffic, not a verdict.

The practical test of an audit is whether you can act on it on the day you receive it. If it needs a specialist to interpret before anyone can start, it has moved the problem rather than solved it.

How UtilitySEO handles this

We audit against 100+ ranking factors and return a ranked list in plain English rather than a spreadsheet of raw findings, with each issue explained in terms of what is wrong and what to change. Everything is unlocked on one plan at £48/mo, with no per-feature add-ons.

Cheaper than what I was using and far easier to get around.

UtilitySEO doesn't overwhelm you with useless data.

Easy to use and makes tracking my info so much better.

Jamie P.

I moved over from a much pricier suite and I have not missed a feature yet.

The audit tells me what to do next instead of handing me a list and wishing me luck.

Fay S.

The briefs and drafts save me a serious amount of time.

I still edit everything, but I am starting from something real rather than a blank page.

Abby R.

Every site I look after is in one place now.

I can see what moved, what I changed and which pages are slipping, without keeping spreadsheets to hold it together.

Frequently asked questions

Performance, on-page SEO, technical issues, accessibility and best practices, 100+ factors, then ranks the fixes by impact.
Monthly is enough for a stable site. Run one immediately after any migration, redesign, replatform or bulk content change, since those are when serious problems appear all at once rather than gradually. Continuous monitoring is more useful than frequent full audits, because it tells you when something changed.
Because every vendor invents its own weighting. The scores are not comparable and were never meant to be. What is comparable is your own score over time on one tool, and the specific findings underneath it, which is the part worth arguing with.
The Entrepreneur plan is £48/mo with every tool unlocked, site audits, keyword and rank tracking, competitor monitoring, AI fix lists and AI brand tracking. Enterprise is £149/mo for unlimited seats, projects and white-label. There are no per-feature add-ons.
